Beautiful Family on a Beautiful December Day!

Today I met a beautiful family of 4 (plus 2 precious beagles!) Three year old M was my friend right away! I got to see the hundreds of toys in his playroom and even his brand new bouncy house from Santa! Eleven month old E was very sleepy today, so we didn't get many smiles from her, but those adorable big brown eyes still sparkled! Thank you W family. I hope you like your sneak peek!

These sweet girls were in town visiting their grandmother for the Labor Day weekend. I really enjoyed meeting this family. Homecoming!

I had the awesome privilige of being at the airport to photograph the homecoming of this brave man who has been serving in Afghanistan for 7 months. This homecoming was extra special for 2 reasons...first, it happened on Father's Day and he headed home to surprise his young children. Also, this was his LAST tour! Can you imagine the relief his wife must feel? I am so happy for this sweet family as they reunite. Jason, it was an honor to meet you last night. God bless you, and thank you for your service.

I had the pleasure of spending the evening with a wonderful family with two precious daughters. Baby L was born a little over a week ago and was a sleepy little angel. Big Sister, E was anything BUT sleepy! :-)

15 Day Old Sleeper!!

This little guy is just over 2 weeks old and slept like a champ! His mommy helped me bend him and pose him so nicely that I may ask her to assist me in the future!!! :-) I'm breaking my ususal "rule of 5" on the sneak peek. Hard to choose...

It's hard to believe it's nearing the end of my second year as Julie Lawrence Photography. This year I had seven more sessions than last year and a lot more people that I didn't know. I have truly enjoyed growing this business and (hopefully) improving my photography. I learned so much this year. It seems like I learned something new at every session. My "official" anniversary date will be Feb. 09, but I am done for 2008 and wanted to celebrate with a blog contest. I picked 30 favorite images. I tried to pick something different than I've shown on the blog or my website. It may not be the parent's favorite image or even one they ordered, but I wanted to show some personality and variety. Vote for YOUR favorite image and that client will receive a free session in 2009! I know there are a lot of pictures, but I couldn't leave anyone out! We later discovered that we are old family friends who haven't seen each other for years. I went to school and church with the mommy of these girls and she went to high school with Grant. He is their newest little guy and he's the cutest chocolate lab ever! He was so good to pose for these pictures. I love working with natural light, so I thought I'd practice a set-up in our garage today. I positioned Jaedyn right inside the door at the edge of the shadow and I love what I got. It really made her eyes sparkle! So, next time you schedule a studio session, don't be surprised if you find yourself in the garage!!!

I was honored to be invited to set up a table at the SAAMOM (San Antonio Area Mothers of Multiples) Market Days on Thursday. I met many great people and booked some sessions for the holidays. There were so many great products and services showcased and I was proud to be a part of other moms and their businesses. I had a drawing for a free session and I should congratulate Laura Jones for winning that session. Hopefully she will use it on that precious baby that will be here in a few weeks (and her other two adorable girls!) Janice, thanks again for including me. I had a great time. I'm showing a couple of pictures of my pathetic little table....(my 11x14 frame of the twin girls broke in the car, so it had to lay flat) :-( At least my candy dish didn't break!!!

A Family Portrait Session in the Park!

I had the pleasure of spending the morning with this precious family in the park. This was a special session for them as they prepare to say goodbye to daddy for almost a year. He will be stationed in Wisconsin starting next month. It was fun to watch him spend some quality time with his boys and it's obvious how much they love each other. 100 Days 'Til Christmas!

On September 16 it will officially be only 100 days until Christmas! What does that mean??? It's time to schedule your holiday portraits. I will be offering a special holiday package that includes a session, cards, and prints. Holiday package sessions will be offered on the following days only: (sessions scheduled on other days are subject to regular pricing)

Saturday, October 18 in the studio at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 1 at an outdoor location (TBD) at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Saturday, November 15 at an outdoor location (TBD) at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.

There are only 10 holiday package sessions offered, so book early! All holiday sessions must be scheduled before Nov. 15! $50 is required to book your session. The remaining $75 will be due 3 days before your session.

Today I had the session with the winner of the Fresh Face Contest. Chloe is 15 months old and such a cutie! We did most of the shots in the studio and then headed to the park. It was 102 degrees so we didn't stay long, but I managed to get a few shots outdoors. I can't wait to look through all the pictures and decide which ones to use on my marketing materials. She's truly a little model!

Well, she could be one if she wanted to! Little L was so cute and had all kinds of poses for me. In fact, this first picture was her idea and it turned out to be one of my favorites. She wanted to lay upside down on her back. I flipped the pic and I think it looks pretty cool. The 3rd one is a fun one for mom! And I know L will enjoy "seeing herself on the computer!" This afternoon I had the privilege of doing a bridal session with a very good friend of mine. She has been our babysitter/nanny for 4 years and has become a family friend and another aunt to Jaedyn and Mallory. Isn't she gorgeous? D and J, I wish you all the best in your marriage. 18 Month Old in the Garden!

Today I met this precious little one at the gardens. She was soooo good. I don't think I've done a session with a toddler so cooperative. It helped that her parents were fun and willing to do most anything, including letting her splash in the fountains. It took her a while to give us some big toothy smiles, but I think I got plenty of cute expressions.

Today's Adorable One Year Old!!!

Don't you just melt when you see this little one? I picked a lot of "favorites" this time because I had so many that I liked from this session. This little man is about to have his one year birthday and was way more interested in exploring my house than having his picture taken. But once he got in front of that camera, he was a ham! It helped that we put a cake down in front of him! Mom and dad were super nice and I had a great time getting to know them. P and D and hope you enjoy your sneak peek. Fresh Face Contest---Model Search!!!!

Do you have an adorably cute and photogenic child between the ages of 6 months and 12 years? Then enter that child in the Julie Lawrence Photography Fresh Face contest. It's time for me to update my marketing materials and I'm looking for a cover model. Your child's photo will be featured on brochures, business cards, my website, etc. The winner of the contest will receive a free session to include studio and outdoor shots, a free mounted 11x14 print, and a $40 clothing gift card to pick out the perfect outfit for your shoot. All you have to do is send a photo of your child to contest@julielawrencephotography.com and include the following information: your name, your child's name, the age of your child in the picture, and your email address. The deadline to submit photos is July 20, 2008. Voting will take place online through July 27. The winner will be announced July 28 on my blog and will be notified by email. Everyone who enters will receive a gift certificate for 50% off a session fee. Good luck!
